Jessy in Japan!
Japan is wonderful! I have truly been enjoying my time here. So far I have had the opportunity to perform and visit the following cities: Osaka, Nagoya, Nara, Kyoto, Tokyo, Nikko, and Fukuoka!
While visiting in Tokyo I had the pleasure of attending the 2006 Tokyo Jazz Festival. I was able to watch and learn from some of the world’s greatest performers; including Chick Corea, Hiromi, Hank Jones, Dave Koz, Sheila E, Joe Zawinul, Los Van Van and the incredible Marcus Miller.. it was an amazing event and I feel so fortunate to have attended.
I’ll be back in the states next month to prepare for the Catalina Jazz Trax Festival on Sunday, October 22 @ noon. I hope to see you all very soon!

Last week Beyonce Knowles announced that she would be holding a national audition for her all new female band. I auditioned here in Los Angeles at Center Staging in Hollywood while other women around the country in Houston, Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta, and New York/New Jersey were also auditioning. I was selected as the only saxophonist from the West Coast to fly to New York to audition for Beyonce, Jay Z, and many other recording executives. After an exhilarating and exhausting weekend of "jamming" with the best from around the country I feel so blessed and honored to have had such a wonderful experience! And I would like to thank Beyonce's staff and creative team for an unforgettable musical journey.

How's it goin'? The year has just been flying by and I'm trying to enjoy every minute! So far this summer has been filled with some cool recording projects. I have been recording tracks with Grammy winning producer Paul Brown, guitarist Blake Aaron, and even my own project.....(more on this to come).
What's new? I will be traveling to Oregon in July to perform and clinic a few outstanding groups... I'm really looking forward to visiting the beautiful Oregon Coast.
So try to stay cool in this summer heat,
Hope to see you soon!

More fun in the Sun
What's going on? My Quintet had a fabulous time performing at the Proof Bar in Santa Ana's historic Artists' district last month and we're excited to be performing there again in March. If you are local stop by for some guaranteed good times.
Last month I also had the opportunity to work with guitarist Paul Brown for a Smooth Jazz Valentines Day concert at the Fresno Convention Center. It was a blast! Happy New Year!!!
My Quintet had a fantastic performance at the Jazz Bakery last month. Thank you to all of you who made it out.
I’m excited to announce that my demo C.D. is finally here!!!!!!
Donald Hayes and I have worked on this project for about a year, and our hard work has really paid off! Check out some streaming clips from the demo on the media page.
Smooth Ride is an original composition of mine written while I was living in London. It represents a variety of Latin sounds and rhythms that will melt your ears and tantalize your senses.
Spanish Nights is a tune written by Donald Hayes, which incorporates elements of modern hip-hop, rhythm & blues, and Spanish sounding percussion instruments.
Hope you enjoy!!
